In the fascinating world of ANNO you'll be able to sink into a wonderful archipelago world and set sails to learn to master the tricks of trading, of diplomacy and economy in order to build up huge metropolises.
The Venice add-on puts the awarded strategy brand onto a whole new level. Someone has finally found a method to modify the fully patched game and not break achievements, and this update is the statement.
Requirements:
· Anno 1404: Venice
What's New in This Release: [ read full changelog ]
· Renamed Helena's home city to "Honortown" from "Honore" to avoid some USA/EUR issues and to make it more of a settlement name.
· Restored name for "Well-Greased Mill Wheel" item (GUID 8746) that was never translated from German and would appear blank in-game. This is a quest reward item in Venice, although I also changed the one reference to it to the Venice version of the item (GUID 40000040) purely for consistency.
· Northburgh's quest "Cool Expedition" (GUID 8050686) renamed to "Chilling Ventures".
· Northburgh's quest "Curiosity" (GUID 8050545) renamed to "A Dwelling Curiosity" to be clever.
· Northburgh's quest "Warmongers" (GUID 8050731) renamed to "Arms Profits" to better match text.
· The Emperor's quest "Deserters" (GUID 8050749) renamed to "Deserters of the State" to add more flavor.
· Lucius' quest "Befitting" (GUID 5750092) renamed to "Befitting Glittering" to give more context.
· Constanza's quest "Honorable" (GUID 6050080) renamed to "Honorable Understandings" to give more context.
· Lucius's quest "Not Unpunished" (GUID 5750044) typo (mine) fixed so Lucius's name displays properly in the quest text.
· Forcas's Venice quest "Non Violence" (GUID 40835024) now requires you first build a Base of Operations so that this quest won't be given if you have disabled Espionage.
· The Sultan's quest "Letter of Marque" (GUID 8150320) XML changed to only spawn two ships to destroy, not three, in order to match the quest text.
· The Sultan's quest "False Flags of War" (GUID 8350054) XML changed to spawn "Strong Enemy Oriental Warships" not "Enemy Large Warships" since the quest text is about Ships pretending to be from the Orient.
· Barnabas's quest "The Queen's Ship" (GUID 5308017) has been changed from a "Kill Ships" quest to a "Catch Ship" quest in order to fix a few issues and to better match the text. Now the Ship won't fight back, being a Large Trading Ship, and a Castaway will drop that must be returned to Barnabas to match the quest text.
· The Sultan's quest "Rogue Captains" (GUID 8450046) changed to spawn 4 total ships instead of 6. Each ship must be destroyed. This was changed to fit the text that indicated all ships should be destroyed.
· The Sultan's extensive quest chain "The Planned Coup d'état" has been updated to change "Corsairs" to "Oriental Warriors" and such since this is what actually is used.
· Changed Barnabas's quest "The Queen's Ship" (GUID 5308017) to use a new quest objective text indicating to bring back the "High Official" instead of saying "Proof" since the quest gave a "Castaway" not a "Flag" as proof. Story text changed to match this too.
· The Sultan's Venice extensive quest "Cultural Exchange IV" (GUID 40803025) has been fixed to properly assign a boarding crew item and also to board a "Strong Oriental Trading Ship" (GUID 15931) instead of the incorrect "Oriental Trading Fleet II" (GUID 15940), which is a ship type used by Al Zahir for trading with you.
· Garibaldi's Venice quest "Making Good" (GUID 40650137) has been changed to deliver goods to the ship type "Large Trading Ship" (GUID 15914) instead of the incorrect "Escort Large Warship" (15937).
· Al Zahir's Venice quest "Nothing like the Real Thing" (GUID 40844086) changed to allow players to deny it. This should prevent it from automatically starting without warning if you have a ship by his Harbor.
· Changed Karim's "Disloyal Assistant I & II" to properly use starting quest audio instead of finishing quest audio when the quest is first given.
· Changed Ibn's extensive quest "The Sultan Ship I" (GUID 5302050) to display the proper "thanks you for completing this part of the Extensive Quest" instead of incorrectly saying you finished the entire Extensive Quest.
· Added proper aiprofile.xml entries for Ibn's extensive quest "The Sultan Ship II" (GUID 5302053) so the quest is identified as an Extensive Quest for both the offer and finish messages.
· Changed the cooldown timer on the "Smoke Out Enemy Spy" tooltip to use the proper cooldown variable since it previously incorrectly used the Spy Infiltration cooldown, which resulted in a constant 0:00 displayed. Nice find me, nice find.
· Restored the Emperor's Spearman (GUID 11010, guarding His residence) unit's missing unit icon; I used the Imperial Cathedral icon to represent his royal guard status.
· Changed "demand Auxiliary Fleet" to "request Auxiliary Fleet" to match other places and nature of request.
· The term "Expedition" has been standardized to always refer to ships using map items to leave the known world on an expedition. When the quest involves searching islands in the game world, the term "Search Party" is now always used in the text to match the audio.
· Changed AI message from "you cannot keep up with their progress" to "you cannot keep up with their might" since this is about military power, not civilization progress.
· Fixed Beggar accept/reject messages to remove an extraneous "A" so it won't say "A A Nobleman is angry…".
· Changed Troop defeated message to remove city name reference since in-game it displayed as blank since it is apparently broken.
· Changed Willem's AI response to being more powerful than you so that it always increases your reputation with him as it should since all the Easy AIs are meant to react in a positive manner.
· Changed Lucius's AI response to settling on his island to greatly decrease your reputation, just like all the other Hard AI players. The default used a "SetReputation_01" variable not used anywhere else. This may have been a bug.
· Created slight variants of several AI reaction messages to better fit whether you lose or gain reputation with them. I also added the proper "You suffer:" or "You receive:" text to give context to the reputation change. This applies to settling AI islands, deploying troops on their islands, and a few other situations.
· Changed Lucius' major Quest achievement text (GUID 20120325) to say "Settle Noblemen and then complete" instead of "Build a Metropolis and then complete". This was done to match my other v1.10 change to the quest precondition.
· Changed Leif's major Quest achievement text (GUID 20120326) to say "Settle Noblemen and then complete" instead of "Build a Metropolis and then complete". This was done to match my other v1.10 change to the quest precondition.
· Changed Willem's major Quest achievement text (GUID 20120327) to say "Settle Noblemen and then complete" instead of "Build a Metropolis and then complete". This was done to match my other v1.10 change to the quest precondition.
· Changed Constanza's major Quest achievement text (GUID 2012032cool to say "Settle Noblemen and then complete" instead of "Build a Metropolis and then complete". This was done to match my other v1.10 change to the quest precondition.
· Changed Giovanni's major Quest achievement text (GUID 20120329) to say "Settle Noblemen and then complete" instead of "Build a Metropolis and then complete". This was done to match my other v1.10 change to the quest precondition.
· Changed Helena's major Quest achievement text (GUID 20120330) to say "Settle Noblemen and then complete" instead of "Build a Metropolis and then complete". This was done to match my other v1.10 change to the quest precondition.
· Changed Forcas' major Quest achievement text (GUID 20120331) to say "Settle Noblemen and then complete" instead of "Build a Metropolis and then complete". This was done to match my other v1.10 change to the quest precondition.
· Changed Constanza's quest "Honorable" (GUID 6050080) to only require settling Noblemen instead of building a Metropolis. This was done to make it much more likely to get this quest since by the time you build a Metropolis you very well may have accumulated too much Honor to be given the quest.
· Changed Giovanni's quest "Measure the Empire" (GUID 615007cool to also require settling Noblemen instead of simply requiring an Alliance. This was done to make it match all other AI major quests.
· Changed Giovanni's quest "A Lasting Sign of Success" (GUID 6150080) to only require settling Noblemen instead of building a Metropolis. This was done to make it much more likely to get this quest since by the time you build a Metropolis you very well may have already built a Historic Warehouses.
· Changed Helena's quest "Power to the Peasants" (GUID 6250063) to only require settling Noblemen instead of building a Metropolis. This was done to make it much more likely to get this quest since by the time you build a Metropolis you very well may have settled too many Peasants to be given the quest.
· Changed Helena's quest "Support from Faith" (GUID 6250065) to only require settling Noblemen instead of building a Metropolis. This was done to make it much more likely to get this quest since by the time you build a Metropolis you very well may have already built a Sultan's Mosque.
· Changed "Win Condition: Settle 2000 Noblemen" (GUID 8050813) quest to automatically disable Forcas's "Popular Government" (Settle 3000 Noblemen, GUID 6350074) quest since it is impossible to complete. Other Win Condition quests already properly disable conflicting quests but this was missed by the developers.
· Changed all three of Marie's major quests (GUIDs 5550128, 5550131, and 5550133) to only require settling Noblemen instead of building a Metropolis. This was done to make it much more likely to get these quests since by the time you build a Metropolis you very well may have already met the quest goals.
· Changed both of Gavin's major quests (GUIDs 5650078 & 5650081) to only require settling Noblemen instead of building a Metropolis. This was done to make it much more likely to get these quests since by the time you build a Metropolis you very well may have already met the quest goals.
· Changed two of Lucius' major quests (GUIDs 5750092 & 575009cool to only require settling Noblemen instead of building a Metropolis (the third already was just Noblemen). This was done to make it much more likely to get these quests since by the time you build a Metropolis you very well may have already met the quest goals.
· Edited XML for quest GUID 5750092 to explicitly state 500,000 gold win condition; no in-game effect but makes debugging XML easier.
· Changed several quests so that the initial quest offer prompt will always display even if you already have met the requirements to complete the quest. This was done because previously all the player would see is a message showing the reward, such as 1200 Honor, which was very confusing without any proper context (some players previously thought the reward was a bug). Quests changed: Lucius' "Befitting Glittering" (GUID 5750092), Giovanni's "Measure the Empire" (GUID 615007cool , Constanza's "Honorable Understandings" (GUID 6050080), Constanza's "Grand Recognition" (GUID 6050082), Gavin's "Comrades in Cause" (GUID 40801010), (GUID 40814016), Willem's "Golden Assistance" (GUID 4081401cool , Constanza's (GUID 40823010), Guy's (GUID 40835020), Guy's (GUID 40835022), Guy's (GUID 40835024), Giovanni's (GUID 40820011), Giovanni's (GUID 40820013), Hildegard's (GUID 40844020), Helena's (GUID 40827015).
· A few quests had unnecessary "ShowIfReachedAtStart" variables. I've removed these, even though it makes no in-game difference. GUIDs changed: 5550128, 5550133, 5650078, 5750098, 5950137, 8250609.
· There are six Venice multiplayer quests that used quest names from other non-Venice quests plus had no quest story texts (GUIDs 40650412, 40650413, 40650414, 40650415, 40650416, 40650417). I've created new names for these quests along with new story texts (GUIDs 40650460, 40650461, 40650462, 40650463, 40650464, 40650465) since these quests are unique.
· More grammar fixes in a few quest texts.
